CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education has finalized appointments to its superintendent search ad hoc committee.
The committee will consist of board members Anna London, Cynthia Stone, Monty Witherspoon and Gregory “Dee” Rankin. London will serve as chair of the committee.
The committee will help guide a superintendent search grounded in transparency and community engagement. The process will incorporate feedback from students, families, staff, community members and external stakeholders.
“Finding the next superintendent is one of the most important responsibilities entrusted to the board,” Rankin said. “We are committed to conducting a thoughtful, inclusive and transparent process that gives our students, families, employees and community partners meaningful opportunities to be heard. Their perspectives will help shape the qualities and priorities we seek in our next leader as we continue our focus on improving outcomes for every student.”
The school board will share more about the search process, timeline and community engagement opportunities in the coming weeks.
